Are we witnessing the beginning of the end for Netflix, Apple and Hulu? Only time will tell as we all sit with faces glued to Facebook, watching ‘The Dark Knight’. Or will we.
Facebook and Warner Brothers have teamed up to bring streaming movies to Facebook. Currently, there is only one movie available, however, additional movies will be added in coming months.
Facebook users that want to watch the movie will first need to ‘like’ the official movie page, “Batman: The Dark Knight” and then allow a “watch app” for the film to install itself into their Facebook account. Allowing the application, grants Warner Bros. access to each user’s name, profile picture, gender, networks, user ID, list of friends and “any other information that’s been shared with everyone.
Watching the movie will cost 30 Facebook credits or $3 and will give you access for 48 hours. Once the 48 hours has expired, you’ll need to pay another 30 credits to watch it again.
